Updated: Oct 24, 2018

Aloe Vera has been used for thousands of years for it's many different medicinal and therapeutic properties. We will summarise how these benefits can be used in your day to day hair and skin care routines.

Aloe Vera Plant

What is Aloe Vera?

"Aloe Vera is a succulent plant species of the genus Aloe. An evergreen perennial, it originates from the Arabian Peninsula but grows wild in tropical climates around the world and is cultivated for agricultural and medicinal uses. The species is also used for decorative purposes and grows successfully indoors as a potted plant. It is found in many consumer products including beverages, skin lotion, cosmetics, or ointments for minor burns and sunburns."

Benefits of Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera has long been regarded as a super ingredient when used with Skincare products. There is a long list of health benefits that stretches back to use with the Ancient Egyptians. Selecting products with Aloe Vera as an ingredient puts you in the same company as Cleopatra who used the plant extensively to treat a multitude of ills including burns, infections and parasites. It is known that she also used Aloe Vera extensively within her beauty regime.

Cleopatra is not alone, another more recent fan of Aloe Vera is Jennifer Aniston who is a self confessed advocate. She grows Aloe Vera in her own back garden and applies it after sun bathing to cool her skin and calm any sun burn.

There are many other supporters of Aloe Vera who use the plant in Sun Care products, cleansers, masks, smoothies and other drinks. The substance that is present within the leaves has shown to include 20 different minerals, 12 seperate vitamins, 18 amino acids and approximately 200 active plant compounds.

Nattura Beauty Products are delighted to offer you many products that include Aloe Vera within their list of ingredients. We know that Aloe Vera is a potent anti-oxidant but due to the 99 percent water content it means that the products are very hydrating, cooling and soothing. Aloe Vera is also a powerful anti-inflammatory that can help treat skin conditions such as psoriasis, sunburn, acne and dry skin. Aloe Vera also works fantastically as a make up remover.

"Aloe Vera will soothe, hydrate and repair stressed skin for a new radiant look that you desire."
